Ready to Run

M.M.LAFLEUR

Creative direction, art direction, brand marketing, and illustration for M.M.LaFleur’s “Ready to Run” campaign.

During the 2020 election, M.M.LaFleur offered to lend clothes to any woman running for public office, regardless of party affiliation. The goal was to make things a tiny bit easier for female candidates, who often need to worry about their physical appearance more than their male counterparts do. To date, the company has supported over 500 candidates, and in 2020, 67% of the candidates we supported made it past their primaries. The campaign went viral and was picked up by countless news publications and notable politicians.

“As a champion for women’s rights for over 30 years, I know that we do not have the same respect, resources, opportunities, or campaign funding as our male counterparts…When I’m well-dressed, I’m more confident, self-assured, and prepared to address our communities.”

“Wearing your clothes gave me one less thing to worry about and the ability to focus on delivering my message.”

“How you present yourself during a campaign really does matter, because your appearance is an expression of who you are and what you stand for. When you feel good in what you’re wearing, it boosts your confidence… confidence shines through when you’re talking to voters. Picking the right outfit isn’t just about style; it’s about showing the world the best version of yourself.”
